Carry On Nurse Poster

An original 1st release Quad for "Carry On Nurse". Following the great success of "Carry On Sergeant", the sequel "Carry On Nurse" was rushed out the following year (1959). Like it's predecessor, "Nurse" mined humour from another great British institution, this time, the NHS. Various actors were re-used from the debut Carry On, thus beginning the creation of a body of Carry On regulars. By contemporary standards, the humour in the Carry On's was fairly tame, it did not stop the intervention by the censors (BBFC) at the time. In one scene where a nurse removes Kenneth Conor's shorts & reacts to Conor's protestations with "Never known ayone make such a fuss about such a little thing", the censor demanded the removal of the next shot where Conor peers under the sheets! A rare poster for Carry On completists.

Please note that though untrimmed, this poster measures 29"x 38". For whatever reason, it appears that Quad posters for this particular film were mostly issued slightly under-sized - see http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/archiveitem/14334839.html & the "Carry On Nurse listing on http://www.britposters.com/comedy.htm

The poster has a 6" tear top corner (now repaired with conservation tape), slight paper loss top left corner, fold-line wear with various conservation repairs to cross-folds & edges etc. However, as can be seen the poster still displays to good effect. This is a rare early Carry On title & has been priced in accordance with condition.
