Dirty Harry Poster

Debut poster in the Clint Eastwood “Dirty Harry” series & most importantly, this is the original 1st release poster (several re-release variants are more commonly available). The film captured the zeitgeist of the moment: the free-love idealism of the hippy age being replaced by gritty realism & personified by the character “Dirty Harry”. Clint plays the role with a great line in swaggering masculinity & delivers one of the classic punch-lines in 20th century cinema "You've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky? Well do ya, punk?". This specimen has been restored & linen-backed.

Prior to linen-backing, the poster had minor paper loss to corners & a couple of edge pieces (these sensitively restored) & several areas of surface scuffing etc. As with good professional restoration of this kind, the poster displays extremely well & the restoration is only apparent upon close inspection. Most importantly, none of the actual artwork has required restoration, only areas of the white background.

NB. For an idea of relative value at the time of listing, unrestored & backed 1st release posters are quoted at £1,200-£1,495 & even later re-release posters are priced at £375-£575. The poster here is priced in accordance with condition.
