Seven Women From Hell Poster

Unusual colour scheme for this Poster from the Film about Japanese brutality in a Womans Prison Camp during WWII. The "Now It Can Be Told" banner bottom right is interesting. In the immediate aftermath of WWII there was a natural reluctance to dwell on the past & many who had been traumatised by the Japanese, chose to remain quiet. In the Cold War era, this suited Western Realpolitik too, as Japan quickly became an "ally" in the fight against Communism. It was not until the late 50's - early 60's that there was a more close examination of Japanese War Crimes in the public media & this Film was a part of this process. The Poster has pin-holes, minor wear to upper edge & slight foldline wear.
