The Baltimore Bullet Poster

An absolutely typical example of a Bysouth-Fair cinema poster illustration, the poster design courtesy of Vic Fair & the illustration by Brian Bysouth. These artists collaborated on many such commissions & a detailed chronology of their careers is detailed in the Sim Branaghan book "British Film Posters" (2006). Here, Fair sets the scene against a triangular backdrop, his penchant for using geometric shapes a characteristic of his work late 1970's - early 80's & Bysouth's love of detail also figures too (completed for Bysouth-Hayter Associates).

The "Baltimore Bullet" was an American crime caper revolving around a high stakes game of pool, the relationship between Coburn & Boxleitner also providing a nod in homage to the Newman-Redford match in "The Sting" (1973). An enjoyable film.

The poster remains in excellent condition (a few minor edge nicks only) & is a great example of the strength of the Bysouth-Fair creative partnership.
