The Legend Of The 7 Golden Vampires

Original Vic Fair painted concept artwork (22"x 32") for the Hammer film "The Legend Of The 7 Golden Vampires" (1974). Vic Fair was a design genius & although a skiled artist in his own right was frequently used in the 1960's-80's as an "ideas-man", producing concept designs for a variety of Quad poster commissions. In this case, Fair's prototype design was adapted by Arnaldo Putzu who provided the finished Quad poster artwork. Various elements from Fair's early work can be seen in the printed Quad. Surviving Hammer poster artwork is extremely rare.

"The Legend Of The 7 Golden Vampires" was an interesting Hammer film, this being a co-production with the Shaw Bothers in Hong Kong where the film was set & filmed. The idea was to meld Hammer's staple horror genre product with the contemporary interest in kung fu films.

Like many Vic Fair concept pieces, this artwork is comprised of a series of painted pieces on layout paper which have been affixed to artboard. The artwork is a mixture of colour was, ink and magic marker.

Due to the size of this piece, a supplementary P&P charge will be required.
